On September 11 and 12, 2024, the 3rd transnational project meeting of the IDEAL project took place at the Teiresias Center in Brno, Czech Republic. This project focuses on increasing health literacy among adult deaf individuals. The host organization was TEIRESIAS, and partners INNOSIGN, TUCEP, AUSRU, IRR, CNSE, and SIGNCODERS also participated.
The meeting concentrated on several work packages, including the creation of a handbook for educators, mapping knowledge and skills in health literacy, and raising awareness through digital platforms. Discussions were held on the results of the field survey, training for educators, and planned activities for the upcoming period.
Among the participants were Diana Majerčáková and Marek Kanaš, who contributed their expertise and experience. This meeting represents an important step towards achieving the goals of the IDEAL project and enhancing health literacy within the adult deaf community.
On the following day, September 12, Marek Kanaš attended the LangSkills 2 conference, where he presented the IDEAL project through a poster presentation. Conference participants asked various questions about the project, and Marek willingly responded, discussing topics related to health literacy and education for the deaf.
